VANCOUVER, B.C. (WNews Communications) — WNews has officially retired its longtime tagline, “The Game-Changer in News,” ending a brand era that began in 2014 and spanned more than 12 years.

The digital-first news organization announced Monday that its new primary slogan will be “Balanced. Bold. Investigative.” It is also introducing a secondary tagline, “News with Clarity. Stories with Depth.”

The change reflects what the company describes as a deliberate shift toward a more defined editorial identity, as WNews continues to expand its reporting, investigative work and multi-platform news operations.

“The Game-Changer in News represented an important chapter in our history,” said Eric Boland, founder and director of WNews and CEO of W-World Media, the parent company of WNews. “It reflected our early ambition to challenge convention and build something different. But as we’ve grown, it became clear that our brand needed to reflect the standards behind our journalism more directly.”

Boland said the new slogan is intended to move beyond a message of disruption and instead communicate a clearer editorial mandate rooted in credibility, accountability and depth.

“Balanced. Bold. Investigative is not just a tagline, it’s a framework,” he said. “It defines how we approach stories, how we hold institutions to account, and how we serve our audience. It’s about being fair without being passive, being bold without being reckless, and going deeper when others stop at the surface.”

The organization said the updated language aligns with a broader industry shift, as audiences increasingly demand transparency, clarity and trust from news organizations amid declining confidence in traditional media.

According to WNews, the three pillars of the new slogan are meant to reinforce distinct editorial priorities:

  • Balanced reporting that presents context and multiple perspectives
  • Bold journalism that is willing to challenge narratives and ask difficult questions
  • Investigative work that goes beyond headlines to uncover deeper truths

The secondary line, “News with Clarity. Stories with Depth,” is intended to complement the primary slogan by emphasizing accessibility and substance, two areas the organization says are central to its long-term strategy.

“Clarity and depth are critical,” Boland said. “In an era of information overload, our responsibility is not just to report, but to help people understand. That means cutting through noise while still delivering meaningful, in-depth journalism.”

WNews said the retirement of its legacy tagline is not a departure from its origins, but rather an evolution of its mission as it transitions from an emerging brand into a more established newsroom with a growing regional and national presence.

The new branding will be rolled out across WNews digital platforms, social media channels, mobile applications and future editorial initiatives in the coming weeks.

The organization described the change as both symbolic and practical; it was intended to guide internal editorial standards and to communicate a clearer value proposition to audiences.

“Ultimately, this is about trust,” Bolans said. “We want our audience to know exactly what WNews stands for every time they see our name.”
