Huy Tran can’t stop thinking about the day a piece of the plane he was on ripped off mid-flight, leaving a door-shaped hole just a few feet from where he sat. 

Tran was a passenger on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, the Boeing 737 jet that made an emergency landing on Jan. 5 after piece of the aircraft covering an inoperative emergency exit behind the left wing blew out.

“I literally thought I was going to die,” the Upland, Calif., man told As It Happens host Nil
