After initially ruling it out in the provincial budget two weeks ago and then again in public comments one week ago, Premier Jason Kenney announced consumer relief on Monday for rising gasoline and electricity prices.
From April 1 to July 1, Alberta will no longer collect the provincial gasoline tax of 13 cents per litre. The tax will continue to be suspended as long as the average price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil is above $90 US
