3 people dead after stabbings in Montreal, suspect in custody, police say

Montreal police are investigating after three people were fatally stabbed on Friday, and sources tell Radio-Canada that the victims and suspect are members of the same family.

According to the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), a 911 call was placed at around 9:20 a.m. regarding people in need of assistance inside an apartment building near the corner of Bélanger and Viau streets in the Rosemont neighbourhood.

Officers found the three victims on the property and their deaths were confirmed at the scene, triggering a major police operation. Police have not confirmed the link between the suspect and
